About tutorial:

The seminar is intended primarily for participants from companies and institutions affected by the deregulation processes of the electricity sector and the green transition of the energy sector. The green transition of the energy system causes the rapid greening of the production part of the electricity system and the general electrification of the transport and other sectors. Furthermore, accelerated integration of European energy markets is at work, including congestion management and balancing the system, all to accelerate the transition and more efficient use of resources. The aspiration to achieve a system with distributed generation and the consequent introduction of new participants in electricity markets, whereby virtually every household can become an active market participant, puts all participants in the green transition before significant challenges in the period ahead. Consequently, concerning the challenges, system operators, academia, and industry partners are preparing for future challenges through various research and development projects. Horizon 2020 projects will be presented at this seminar:

Project CROSSBOW - „CROSS Border management of variable renewable energies and storage units enabling a transnational Wholesale market“ to demonstrate the possibilities of cross-border management of volatile energy from renewable sources and energy storage

Project FLEXGRID - „A novel smart grid architecture that facilitates high RES penetration through innovative markets towards efficient interaction between advanced electricity grid management and intelligent stakeholders“ to develop a flexibility marketplace for the future electricity system. entities such as system operators

Project FARCROSS - „FAcilitating Regional CROSS-border Electricity Transmission through Innovation“ to increase the load capacity and better utilization of cross-border capacities to improve the market for intraday and day-ahead time frame

Project ATTEST - „Advanced Tools Towards cost-efficient dEcarbonization of future reliable power SysTems“ with the aim of research and demonstration of transmission and distribution system coordination in the form of joint planning and management of transmission and distribution network
